Following the success of the popular Gills Independent Supporters
Club Legends Night, we are delighted to announce that a donation of
£500 has been made to the Royal National Institute for the Blind.
Although Gillingham FC declined the money raised at the Legends
Night specifically for the purchase and installation of an audio
system for visually impaired supporters at Priestfield Stadium, the
GISC committee felt we should make a £500 donation to the RNIB for
their help in negotiations to ensure these facilities were
implemented.
The facilities, which are now in use at Priestfield Stadium, were
sourced through the RNIB and a £500 cheque was presented to Eleanor
Ellison by Chairman Gary Liptrott and Treasurer Darren Keating.
Following the presentation Mr Liptrott said:
"Eleanor Ellison of the RNIB was extremely grateful to receive our
donation for their help in negotiations to ensure these facilities
were made available at Priestfield Stadium."
