22/06/2008 - Social Event: GISC Quiz Night - Monday 21st July 2008


June Winners: Congratulations to "Two recycled and four slightly used refuse operatives" (pictured below) who claimed the GISC Quiz Trophy for the first time with 48 points.

One point behind them in second place was "An then there was three", while "Where's Janine gone?" finished in third with 40 points.

The Burpers, who were led by former Gillingham FC Chairman and GISC president Tony Smith, finished fourth with 39 points and last month's winners "AFC Dubai" scored 35 points.

"How old is Nan?" were awarded the wooden spoon prize of a packet of jelly babies each having accumulated 23 points. The GISC, Pam, Keith and Alan would like to thank everyone for their valued support.

Split into six sections the quiz will include:-

In The News - Current Affairs
Quick Ten - 10 general knowledge questions
Specialist Round - 10 questions on one mystery subject
Connections - General knowledge with a difference
Wipeout round - Answer as many questions as you can but don't get one wrong!
and of course a single round on Gillingham Football Club

Drinks available at club prices - Free buffet

Date:-       Monday 21st July 2008
Time:-       7.45pm for 8.00pm start
Venue:-     Brasenose Club, Gillingham
Cost:-        £2 per player - up to 6 players per team

Prizes will be presented to the winners with prizes also available for the second and final placed teams.

The entry fee will be collected on the evening of the quiz with all monies raised going towards the GISC Away Travel operation.

The event is open to both members and non-members with Gills fans and non-Gills fans welcome to attend.

Where is the Brasenose Club?

The Brasenose Club is located at 168 Nelson Road (the same road as Gillingham Bus Station) and is the venue for our AGM`s.

It is within walking distance of Gillingham train station (5-10 mins), Gillingham bus station (5 mins) and of course Priestfield Stadium (10-15 mins).
