29/10/2008 - Social Event: GISC Quiz Night - Monday 17th November 2008


October Winners: Congratulations to "Can we play Spurs next week?" who took home the GISC quiz trophy finishing the evening with 48 points. In second place, with 35 points were "Barry Fuller for England".

The Kestrels Seniors finished third with 32 points, while "The Fab Four" secured fourth position with 31 points.

"Madonna's Marriage Advisors", who were holding a one night only counselling session at the Brasenose Club, scored 28 points and one point behind them were "The Graduates - Not!".

The October wooden spoon prize of wine gums and jelly babies went to "Double Figures Would Be Great" who finished 6 points behind the field with 21 points.

The GISC, Pam, Keith and Alan would like to thank everyone for their valued support. The quiz nights have currently raised £370 towards the GISC 2008/2009 away coach travel. We look forward to seeing you all at the next event.

Split into six sections the quiz will include:-

In The News - Current Affairs
Quick Ten - 10 general knowledge questions
Specialist Round - 10 questions on one mystery subject
Connections - General knowledge with a difference
Wipeout round - Answer as many questions as you can but don't get one wrong!
and of course a single round on Gillingham Football Club

Drinks available at club prices - Free buffet

Date:-       Monday 17th November 2008
Time:-       7.45pm for 8.00pm start
Venue:-     Brasenose Club, Gillingham
Cost:-        £2 per player - up to 6 players per team

Prizes will be presented to the winners with prizes also available for the second and final placed teams.

The entry fee will be collected on the evening of the quiz with all monies raised going towards the GISC Away Travel operation.

The event is open to both members and non-members with Gills fans and non-Gills fans welcome to attend.

Where is the Brasenose Club?

The Brasenose Club is located at 168 Nelson Road (the same road as Gillingham Bus Station) and is the venue for our AGM`s.

It is within walking distance of Gillingham train station (5-10 mins), Gillingham bus station (5 mins) and of course Priestfield Stadium (10-15 mins).
